We are a small, non-intensive farm nestled in the foothills of the Tararua Ranges, just north of the Kapiti Coast. Woody's Free Range Farm is a 100% free range, rare breed pig farm. We are a registered rare breed stud with the NZ Pig Breeders Association, specialising in Large Black and Berkshire pigs which are both 'Heritage' breeds. We are also members of the Rarebreeds Society of NZ. Our pigs are raised outdoors and we do not use sow stalls or farrowing crates.

Our mission is to produce high quality pork and to raise happy pigs in an ethical way. This means that our pigs require more time and care to raise. We raise fewer pigs than an intensive farming operation, which means our pork costs more. We rely on the discernment of the consumer to create demand for ethically-raised, better tasting pork.
