Is it safe to buy meat online?
Yes. All meat goes through transport at some stage, whether to a butcher or supermarket. Buying from us simply removes the middle step, so your product goes straight from us to you, fresher.
How is the meat delivered?
Your order is packed in insulated boxes with ice packs designed to keep products cold for up to 48 hours.
We ship overnight using a courier, and most deliveries arrive within 24 hours.
Do you offer a quality guarantee?
Yes. We stand behind our product.
If something isn’t right, contact us immediately at info@woodysfarm.co.nz or call 06 927 9993 and we’ll assess the issue.
Do you deliver to rural or offshore addresses?
We can, but:
- Delivery times are not guaranteed
- These orders are sent entirely at your risk
- No refunds or replacements are provided for delays or quality issues on rural or offshore deliveries
We strongly recommend using a non-rural delivery address where possible.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated at checkout and typically ranges from $15–$20 depending on weight.
- Free shipping on orders over $150 (North Island only)
- South Island shipping is higher due to freight costs
We do not make money on shipping, it simply covers courier costs.
Can I collect my order?
Yes. Collection is available from our Levin site.
We’ll notify you when your order is ready.
Can I request specific cuts or flavours in a pack?
Generally no.
We work from a fixed number of animals each week, so availability is limited. Allowing full customisation would disrupt production.
If you want specific items, many are available to purchase individually.
Are your pigs really free range?
Yes.
Our pigs live outdoors full-time and are able to express natural behaviours. We describe them as pasture raised, which is a more accurate reflection of how they are farmed.
Why is free range more expensive?
It isn’t always. Some cuts are more expensive, some are cheaper.
Our focus is on fair pricing, high meat content, and quality. For example, our sausages are over 90% meat, which compares strongly against supermarket products.
Do you sell whole pigs?
No.
We do not sell whole pigs or allow collection of live animals.
Why does vacuum-packed meat sometimes smell?
Vacuum packaging removes oxygen, which can cause a build-up of natural compounds, especially in bone-in cuts like ribs or chops.
This can create a slight smell or slippery texture when opened.
- This is normal
- The meat is still fresh and safe to eat
- Rinsing under cold water will remove the smell
If you’re unsure, contact us.
Are your sausages and bacon gluten free?
Most are gluten free.
Some products contain a small amount of preservative (sodium nitrite at very low levels) to ensure product safety during transport.
We also offer a range of nitrite-free products.
Why does my payment appear twice?
This is usually a bank authorisation issue.
Some payments may show twice as “pending”, but you will only be charged once.
If both charges are completed (rare), contact us and we’ll sort it.
Final note
- We pack products properly
- We ship with a reliable courier
- Once dispatched, courier performance is outside our control
- Rural deliveries carry additional risk, and that risk sits with the customer
